Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- Access to your Plesk control panel
- Your SSL certificate files (CRT, Private Key, and CA Bundle)
Step 1 — Upload Your Certificate
- Log in to Plesk and go to Websites & Domains.
- Find your domain and click on SSL/TLS Certificates.
- Click Advanced Settings (or Add SSL/TLS Certificate depending on your Plesk version).
- Click Add SSL/TLS Certificate.
- Scroll down to the Upload the certificate files section.
- Browse and select your Private Key (
.key), Certificate (.crt), and CA Bundle (-ca.crt) files. - Click Upload Certificate.
Step 2 — Activate SSL for the Domain
Uploading the certificate isn't enough; you must also tell Plesk to use it for your website.
- Go back to Websites & Domains.
- Find your domain and click Hosting Settings.
- In the Security section, ensure SSL/TLS support is checked.
- Select your newly uploaded certificate from the Certificate dropdown menu.
- (Optional) Check Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.
- Click OK at the bottom of the page.
Propagation: Changes in Plesk usually take effect within a few seconds. If you don't see the change, try clearing your browser cache.
Step 3 — Verify Installation
Check your site at https://yourdomain.com. Ensure there are no "Insecure Content" warnings. You can use our SSL Checker to confirm the installation is perfect.
