Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Access to your Plesk control panel
  • Your SSL certificate files (CRT, Private Key, and CA Bundle)

Step 1 — Upload Your Certificate

  1. Log in to Plesk and go to Websites & Domains.
  2. Find your domain and click on SSL/TLS Certificates.
  3. Click Advanced Settings (or Add SSL/TLS Certificate depending on your Plesk version).
  4. Click Add SSL/TLS Certificate.
  5. Scroll down to the Upload the certificate files section.
  6. Browse and select your Private Key (.key), Certificate (.crt), and CA Bundle (-ca.crt) files.
  7. Click Upload Certificate.

Step 2 — Activate SSL for the Domain

Uploading the certificate isn't enough; you must also tell Plesk to use it for your website.

  1. Go back to Websites & Domains.
  2. Find your domain and click Hosting Settings.
  3. In the Security section, ensure SSL/TLS support is checked.
  4. Select your newly uploaded certificate from the Certificate dropdown menu.
  5. (Optional) Check Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect from HTTP to HTTPS.
  6. Click OK at the bottom of the page.
💡
Propagation: Changes in Plesk usually take effect within a few seconds. If you don't see the change, try clearing your browser cache.

Step 3 — Verify Installation

Check your site at https://yourdomain.com. Ensure there are no "Insecure Content" warnings. You can use our SSL Checker to confirm the installation is perfect.
